Thomas J. Eveland, PhD
FOUNDER
In addition to his work as a university professor, Thomas founded SBC Consulting in the midst of the social unrest and challenging business environment during the pandemic to help small business owners, especially those often underserved, survive. As the founder, TJ provides guidance to SBC’s leadership and helps develop partnerships with entrepreneur support organizations to provide no-cost support to small business owners and improve entrepreneurial ecosystems throughout the country.

Christy Dudgeon, CBA
PRESIDENT
Christy brings 25+ years of experience across startups and corporate settings, with a background spanning sales, operations, and financial management. She began at SBC as a Consultant, applying her firsthand knowledge of how businesses grow and adapt. Now serving as the firm’s Integrator, Christy leads the team, directs strategic priorities, and strengthens the systems that support high-quality service delivery nationwide. Her expertise in scalable systems, financial operations, and organizational strategy guides both the SBC team and the entrepreneurs they serve.

Karyn Wilson, MBA, CBA
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Karyn has an MBA, has taught business at the university level, has been part of the creation and sale of multiple small businesses, and successfully owned and operated her own business for nearly a decade. As the Managing Director, she is the project manager for all of SBC’s projects. She works directly with partners to ensure workflow processes are followed, their clients' needs are fulfilled, and collects and returns data to ensure our partners are recognized for their impacts on small business owners.

Darlene Rose-Shults, MBA, CBA
MANAGING CONSULTANT
Darlene has owned and operated her own bakery for nearly a decade and leverages her experiences to help entrepreneurs reach their goals through business planning, identifying new markets, developing and pivoting to in-demand products and services, and growing sales through social and other media. Darlene has an MBA, and her pre-entrepreneur career in higher education gives her the ability to keep clients on task and provide structured advising with demonstrable outcomes.
